Selective Dem Memory? (Duh.)

A couple of items from The Corner on National Review Online:

How soon some of our liberal friends forget. Among others, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer, Chris Dodd, John Kerry, John Edwards, Joe Biden and Jay Rockefeller voted for the October 11, 2002 congressional joint resolution authorizing the president, on his discretion, to go to war. Here, in part, is what the resolution said:

"Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq:

"Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terroist organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and safety of United States citizens;

"Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001, underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist organizations ...

And not a single news person bothered to ask any critics of the president's speech last night how they can square their offense at the president's linking terrorism to the war against Iraq when they did the same exact thing.

...and this a couple of items later (above on the scroll)...

Not surprisingly, my mail indicates the Iraq/al-Qaeda naysayers are relying on the 9/11 Commission mind-bogglingly shoddy "investigation" of ties between Iraq and al Qaeda -- and in so doing going even further than the Commission itself did. The Commission at least acknowledged that there was lots of evidence of ties, but drew a line between ties and "operational" ties in concluding there was no evidence of Iraqi complicity in any particular al Qaeda act of terrorism (meaning the embassy bombings, the Cole bombing, and the 9/11 attacks).

The media, of course picked this ball up and ran with it. So obsessed were they with the "Bush lied" angle, especially in the months before the election, that they further twisted the Commission's gobbledygook, so that the conventional wisdom is now that there was no nexus AT ALL between Iraq and al Qaeda. Indeed, the Times continues this studious chicanery by, for example, avoiding at all costs an even-handed explanation that the Commission merely found there was no evidence of direct complicity in specific terror attacks. Instead, it blares in today's editorial that Iraq had "nothing whatsoever" to do with terror attacks. That's not far from me saying I have nothing whatsoever to do with publishing this post because I'm merely writing it and it's NRO and it's emir, K-Lo, who decide what gets posted on the site.

But even if what these guys were saying was true, it is a serious felony in this country to provide MATERIAL SUPPORT to terror organizations. That's a law that was enacted in 1996, during the Clinton Administration, with broad bipartisan support, including by many Democrats still in congress who are complaining about the President's allusions to 9/11. We enacted that law out of a recognition that terror networks cannot succeed without being facilitated in their day-to-day existence by others: recruiting, training, harboring, financing, etc.

Is there anyone who really doubts, on the basis of the record even as undeveloped as we know it is, that Saddam's regime provided material support to al Qaeda such that it would be convicted if it were charged with that crime? Why is it that Saddam Hussein is somehow the only guy on the planet who has "nothing whatsoever" to do with terrorism unless his fingerprints end up on a bomb? For everyone else our standard is: if you help terrorists in any way, you're gone. Not Iraq, though.

Indeed.

Namby-Pamby Nation

My favorite conservative hottie, Michelle Malkin, has a great piece about how liberals are destroying the very children they pretend to care about by making them into pacifist wimps. Well, duh.

White House senior adviser Karl Rove caused a firestorm last week after observing that liberals favor "therapy and understanding" to fight terrorism in a post-Sept. 11 world.

Rove spoke the truth. But he barely scratched the surface.

The left-wing Kumbaya crowd is quietly grooming a generation of pushovers in the public schools. At a time of war, when young Americans should be educated about this nation's resilience and steely resolve, educators are indoctrinating students with saccharine-sticky lessons on "non-violent conflict resolution" and "promoting constructive dialogues."

Peaceniks are covering our kids from head to toe in emotional bubble wrap. They are creating a nation of namby-pambies.

In their brilliant book "One Nation Under Therapy," Christina Hoff Sommers and Sally Satel diagnosed the public school's pacifist pathology dead on:

"American children badly need moral clarity. But our education establishment is too uneasy about the idea of moral judgment to meet this elementary need. Feelings of helplessness and disorientation are thoroughly, even compulsively, canvassed, elicited, discussed, and promoted; by contrast, feelings of moral indignation and condemnation are deflected and downplayed. This leaves children defenseless, clueless and unprepared to meet real and grave threats to their own and the nation's future."

Just what we need to combat throat-slitting, suicide plane-flying Islamists: young eunuchs swaying to moldy old folk music while their "Peace Place" signs flap in the wind.

This is why liberals oppose school choice: They can't brainwash and indoctrinate the children when they're not in their clutches. Properly educated children won't submit to their fascist thug tactics, so it's better to program to be pliant sheeple than just shoot them in the street. Saves on bullets, too!

The moment I saw the 2nd plane slam into the WTC on 9/11, I knew three things in that instant:

1. We were under attack.
B. The Era of Kumbayah was over.
3. The weakass muthaf*ckas who let this happen and refuse to fight back must NEVER be allowed to reassume power.

We need to destroy the government indoctrination system, too. Unfortunately, the desire to shut down the Dept. of Education that existed after Newt and the REAL conservative Republicans liberated the Congress from Dem control has died and been replaced by pale socialists like Dubya and the morons of the Stupid Party who've come up with crap like "No Child Left Unprogrammed" and bankrupted the country with their profligate spending.

Thanks for nothing, asstacklers. F*ck you, ya stupid bitches! :|

Why did the Post protect Byrd's image?

Yeah, why? Trent Lott wants to know, too.

There was a striking passage in last Sunday’s Page One Washington Post story about Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) headlined, “A Senator’s Shame: Byrd, in His New Book, Again Confronts Early Ties to KKK.”

“Historians, political analysts and admirers have long sought to reconcile Byrd’s early Klan affiliation with his image as a pillar of the Senate,” reporter Eric Pianin wrote. “More extraordinary is how he managed to overcome such a blot on his record to twice become Senate majority leader.”

It’s true. Byrd has indeed enjoyed an image as a pillar of the Senate. And given his history, that seems a bit odd.

How do you suppose it happened? Do you think a newspaper — say The Washington Post — might have had something to do with it?

Sunday’s article, based in part on the senator’s new autobiography, details how in the early 1940s Byrd started a chapter of the Klan in Crab Orchard, W.Va., recruited members, appealed to the KKK’s national leadership and became the local “exalted cyclops.”

The story details how Byrd remained active in the Klan for longer than he has ever acknowledged and how, in 1945, he wrote a letter saying that he would rather die than see the United States “degraded by race mongrels.”

It was strong stuff. But surely nothing new, right? Surely the Post has covered that territory many times before, right? After all, Byrd has been in the Senate since 1959.

Well, actually, not. A review of the paper’s coverage of Byrd reveals that, on the whole, the Post has been extraordinarily reluctant to investigate — or even criticize — the Democratic leader’s Klan history.

Go read it all and ask yourself what would happen to a non-Democrat with the same history?

Jailbait To Bring Peace to Japan and China?

This smacks of bovine manure to me, but whatever. Do a Google of the name on the picture and see about how this alleged ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD JAPANESE GIRL(!!!!!!!!!!!!!) is calming tensions between old antagonists.

This is just wrong. I know R. Kelly is really laughing at me now. Why can't these girls be LEGAL so it's not a crime to even think, "Hey, babe."?!?!??

Paula Abdul Times Ten!!!

The fireworks pre-show is running here right now and they have their usual Star Search style local singer competition running. These are usually fairly innocuous affairs with cheesy songs done by marginal voices. No biggie, right?

Well, I was in the other room hanging some clothes and the sounds of animal slaughter came wafting in as "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" was mercilessly turned into a treat for only the deaf and dying by some dorky looking dweeb who probably still gets money for his birthday in envelopes that show the President's face thru the front.

Anyhoo, after this performance that made Paul Simon even more morose, they had the judges put Abdul's shameless self-esteem fluffing to shame by giving this kid the highest score! A girl who actually did a good job with a country song didn't advance while this Smedley gets to ride the Mediocrity Elevator to the top.

Disgusting, yet so typical.

UPDATE: Dumbass WON! William Hung, watch out!!!!

Regarding: Dubya's Big Pep Talk

I guess it says it all that I started reading a video game magazine about three minutes into his typically lackluster and inarticulate speech. One of the reasons why I gave up on him was his terminal incapability to express the crucial things people need to know about our dangerous times. With him being unable to speak for himself, he's at the mercy of cheerleaders on the Right and the media jackals on the Left to define him. Reagan he ain't.

I've been too busy to patrol the waterfront, but what I've seen is a mixed bag of pro, con and wanting more. As for myself, I find that David Frum's Diary on National Review Online sums up many of my thoughts and so to spare my Lee Press-Ons, I'll just C&P the following:

Is it too much like inside-baseball to worry, though, that the speech itself was neither very good nor very convincing? It's reported this morning that 11 people worked on the speech - and it shows.

[O]ne could feel the bureaucratic mind oscillating throughout the speech: don't want to frighten people with the possibility of failure, so we can't discuss that; on the other hand, we don't want to endorse any successes in case something goes wrong later and we get criticized for over-hype - so better just hide ourselves in bland reassurances and generalities ... you never get blamed for those.

Well maybe you don't get blamed, but there is this political fact: While from a literary point of view there are great speeches and less great speeches and fine speeches and so on through every degree of shading all the way down, from a political point of view there are only two kinds of speeches: those that do the job and those that don't. What the president needed to do last night was win back those whose faith in this war has wavered - and I very much doubt that he reclaimed even a single straying sheep.

And yet there may still be a silver lining to this disappointment. We've been waiting and waiting for the president to remind the country of the rightness and importance of the Iraq mission: to make his case forcefully and then to make it again and again and again. Unfortunately that work of persuasion has been allowed to lapse for almost half a year now.

The very ineffectiveness of last night's speech almost obliges the president to return to the subject again - and that is precisely what is most needed.

People will support what's best presented to them. Since Dubya is rhetorically incapable of overcoming the combined forces of the Democrats, backstabbing Republicans, the media and Al Queda, the public currently believes that everything sucks and we're losers. I'm not saying things are sunshine and roses in Iraq, but the media's 24/7 "we're bad; we're losing" attack has been quite effective because, face it, Goebbels was right and the Big Lie works, especially in the practiced hands of the MSM.

Peggy Noonan Asks, "What Is Wrong With Them?"

More of the usual brilliance about the sheer self-regard that so many in Washington seem to hold themselves.

A few weeks ago it was the senators who announced the judicial compromise. There is nothing wrong with compromise and nothing wrong with announcements, but the senators who spoke referred to themselves with such flights of vanity and conceit--we're so brave, so farsighted, so high-minded--that it was embarrassing. They patted themselves on the back so hard they looked like a bevy of big breasted pigeons in a mass wing-flap. Little grey feathers and bits of corn came through my TV screen, and I had to sweep up when they were done.

This week comes the previously careful Sen. Barack Obama, flapping his wings in Time magazine and explaining that he's a lot like Abraham Lincoln, only sort of better. "In Lincoln's rise from poverty, his ultimate mastery of language and law, his capacity to overcome personal loss and remain determined in the face of repeated defeat--in all this he reminded me not just of my own struggles."

Oh. So that's what Lincoln's for. Actually Lincoln's life is a lot like Mr. Obama's. Lincoln came from a lean-to in the backwoods. His mother died when he was 9. The Lincolns had no money, no standing. Lincoln educated himself, reading law on his own, working as a field hand, a store clerk and a raft hand on the Mississippi. He also split some rails. He entered politics, knew more defeat than victory, and went on to lead the nation through its greatest trauma, the Civil War, and past its greatest sin, slavery.

Barack Obama, the son of two University of Hawaii students, went to Columbia and Harvard Law after attending a private academy that taught the children of the Hawaiian royal family. He made his name in politics as an aggressive Chicago vote hustler in Bill Clinton's first campaign for the presidency.

You see the similarities.

There is nothing wrong with Barack Obama's résumé, but it is a log-cabin-free zone. So far it also is a greatness-free zone. If he keeps talking about himself like this it always will be.

Mr. Obama said he keeps a photographic portrait of Lincoln on the wall of his office, and that "it asks me questions."

I'm sure it does. I'm sure it says, "Barack, why are you such an egomaniac?" Or perhaps, "Is it no longer possible in American politics to speak of another's greatness without suggesting your own?"

Go read it all for she goes on to paste the worthless Stupid Party leader Bil Frist and the Supreme Court for their chronic self-love.

So Much For "Doing It For The Cause".

As reported here:

Sir Paul McCartney landed the headline spot at Live 8 after threatening not to perform at all.

The 62-year-old former Beatle told organisers he wanted to open Saturday's Hyde Park concert and close it or he would 'think seriously' about taking part.

They have bowed to his demand and Sir Paul will start the show with a version of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - reworded to honour the achievements of Bob Geldof - and round it off eight hours later with The Long and Winding Road.

In a compromise to clashing egos, he will share the stage for the opening number with Bono and U2. Both stars and the rest of the band will pay homage to the Sergeant Pepper legend by wearing the multicoloured militarystyle suits the Beatles wore on the 1967 album cover.

A Live 8 source said Sir Paul's headline slot had ruffled a few feathers. 'Some of the more fragile egos are upset,' he said. 'Bono, in particular, was quick to demand a share of the opening number and sees what he has done politically over the years as a bit more relevant to Live 8 than what Paul has to offer. Remember, these are the biggest rock stars around. Whatever order they sing in there is going to be friction.'

Gee, I thought they were trying to increase awareness of world poverty, yet millionaire and billionaire rock stars are squablling over petty crap? Idiots and hypocrites, they are.

I have a band (The Dirk Belligerent Experience) and we'll play the Philly show and take whatever time slot they've got. It's not a big deal - we'd just like to help out. We always play benefits when asked and this is no different.

Let Bono worry about his image and let those really interested in helping take his place.

"The Bush Chronicles"?

Back in the Nineties, during the Clinton Regime, some clowns were peddling a videotape called "The Clinton Chronicles" that claimed to prove that Bill and Hillary! and their cronies were responsible for dozens of murders of people who crossed them. The Mena, AR airport was mentioned and whatnot - it's all too long ago to remember well, but suffice to say, they were smoking rope.

Well, it appears that the rope has switched sides as sites like Report From Outside the Beltway are saying that Jeb Bush had some guy murdered who was looking into some money-laundering scheme involving the Florida toll road system.

Uh-huh....ho-kay...

FLORIDA PANHANDLE [love the dateline], June 10, 2005 -- Experienced federal investigators [Who?], acting independently, have discovered a covert funding channel used by the 2000 and 2004 Bush-Cheney campaigns and the administrations of Jeb Bush in Florida and Bob Taft in Ohio to illegally funnel foreign and other questionable money into Republican coffers.

Ever since the brutal death of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) investigator Ray Lemme in July 2003, the focus of investigators in Florida and Georgia has been on the political scandal Lemme was uncovering. After his official investigation of contract fraud, money laundering, illegal immigration, and election fraud was shut down on orders of Jeb Bush, Lemme continued to investigate the use of FDOT to launder cash for the Bush Brothers and their allies. Lemme's focus was on the use of the Florida turnpike system to launder cash for the Jeb and George W. Bush campaigns. It was an investigation that would ultimately lead to Lemme's body being discovered in a motel room bath tub in Valdosta, Georgia. A two-state police cover up of Lemme's death, threats directed at Florida and Georgia investigators, and a virtual media blackout indicates that the GOP administrations of Jeb Bush and Georgia's Sonny Perdue wanted the Lemme story to go away -- and fast.

The reason for the cover-up of Lemme's reported "suicide" is simple. Investigators have now discovered that foreign cash, including Chinese, Saudi, and Nigerian money, was laundered via the biggest state-run cash cow in Florida -- the Florida Turnpike system. Because most of the transactions involving Florida's toll roads involve cash and huge amounts of it, it was easy for foreign and other questionable money to be laundered via FDOT.

Maybe my liberal readers can wade thru the whole article and then cross-reference it to something Michael Moore SWEARS happened just like he recreates it, but for the rest of us, here's the simple sniff test...

If lunatic right-wingers are nuts to suppose such things, why should anti-Dubya people be taken any more seriously?

Put that in your "Bush Lied, People Died" bong and smoke it!

The Lost Liberty Hotel

Someone wants to build a hotel on (in)Justice Souter's house and has applied to use eminent domain to do it.

Justice Souter's vote in the "Kelo vs. City of New London" decision allows city governments to take land from one private owner and give it to another if the government will generate greater tax revenue or other economic benefits when the land is developed by the new owner.

On Monday June 27, Logan Darrow Clements, faxed a request to Chip Meany the code enforcement officer of the Towne of Weare, New Hampshire seeking to start the application process to build a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road. This is the present location of Mr. Souter's home.

Clements, CEO of Freestar Media, LLC, points out that the City of Weare will certainly gain greater tax revenue and economic benefits with a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road than allowing Mr. Souter to own the land.

The proposed development, called "The Lost Liberty Hotel" will feature the "Just Desserts Café" and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon's Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged."

Clements indicated that the hotel must be built on this particular piece of land because it is a unique site being the home of someone largely responsible for destroying property rights for all Americans.

"This is not a prank" said Clements, "The Towne of Weare has five people on the Board of Selectmen. If three of them vote to use the power of eminent domain to take this land from Mr. Souter we can begin our hotel development."

Oh, it's a prank all right, but you gotta love it. I wish they could actually push this thru to see if Souter would be able to stop progress for the greater good of society. Rush Limbaugh suggested putting something up in Hyanis Port, but we've already seen Teddy "Killer" Kennedy block windmills that would've blocked his view.

Celebrate Diversity!

I've added La Shawn Barber's blog to the permanent roll at right because she's been coming up with some really good stuff and y'all should check her out consistantly.

One of today's posts is about a story that flew under my radar despite having occurred in the next town over from mine.

Parents of son charged in beating may lose girl
Madison Hts. pair could lose daughter for delaying treatment for broken back; her brother faces charge.

MADISON HEIGHTS -- The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office on Thursday will attempt to permanently end the parental rights of a Madison Heights couple who police say neglected to seek medical help for their daughter after her older brother allegedly beat her over her relationship with a non-Muslim boy.

The 15-year-old girl, who is a Madison Heights Lamphere High junior, suffered a broken back in the beating, according to court documents. The trial to determine whether parental custody rights should be terminated is set for Thursday before Oakland Circuit Judge Joan Young.

The girl's brother, Ahmad Abdelmomen, 21, is charged with aggravated assault in the April 29 incident at their home in Madison Heights. Abdelmomen is free on bond pending a July 13 preliminary hearing before Madison Heights 43rd District Judge Robert J. Turner.

"She complained of the injury to her parents, but they didn't take her to a doctor because they condoned the punishment her brother gave her," said Robert Zivian, an assistant Oakland County prosecuting attorney assigned to the neglect case.

The following day, when the girl was still complaining of injuries, her parents called for an ambulance, according to Madison Heights Police Detective Sgt. Ron Hillman.

"She was in a lot of pain, and when she eventually went back to school, it was in a wheelchair," Hillman said. "It was too painful for her to stand for any period of time."

The girl initially told hospital workers she fell, Hillman said. After being questioned by police, she admitted that her brother had beaten her because he was upset over her relationship with a boy who was not of their religious faith, Hillman said.

"She wrote me a two-page statement about how both her brother and her parents disapproved of the situation," he said. "She wrote that's what prompted the beating in the first place."

The girl was placed in temporary foster care following the incident, Zivian said.

"Now she is recanting the original story and also claiming she fell down some stairs," Zivian said.

Yep. That lovely "religion of peace" in action. Yet, the Left still foments anti-Catholic bigotry because there aren't women priests. Also, while we're running Christian symbols of government property, we're expected to show tolerance for these medieval savages who practive barbaric "Sharia Law" and brutalize women.

Where are the feminists? Oh, that's right, they're protesting a Catholic Church somewhere. My bad.

Friday Fiver

While trolling the waters of the Blogosphere, I came upon this - Friday Fiver - five questions a week that are as deep as your typical navel-gazing activity, but, what the heck? It is Tuesday, right?

The downside of having some morals. Drat. (R. Kelly's laughing at me, I know it.)

Which Story Is More Important?

Turbin Durbin's sedition or Karl Rove's accurate appraisal of liberals? Oh, That Liberal Media has the answer.

Keep it in mind when you hear the media claim to be "objective".

ZOMBIE DOGS!!!

Dogs are being brought back to life after several hours of clinical death. When asked for comment, a cat said, "That's because those dumbasses only have one life - if you can call that a life."

The BS Detector on this story is twitching a bit cuz this is supposedly happening in Pittsburgh, coincidentally(?) the home of "Dawn/Day/Land of the Dead" director George Romero.

What's For Dinner Tonight?

And how does it compare to what the poor babies at Gitmo are having?

F*ck Turbin Durbin! F*ck the Democrat traitors! And f*ck John McCain - someone who should know what REAL torture is about (if his legend is to be believed) - for sitting silently while our soldiers are slandered because he and his Dem pals have a vendetta against Dubya!!!

They certainly whine that their patriotism is being challenged. Well, I don't think it's being challenged enough! WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON, PEOPLE?!?!? I get it that you hate America and hate Dubya with a white-hot fury, but where do y'all get off telling us that you're MORE patriotic as you paint bullseyes on our fighting men and women for petty partisan political gain?!?

Oedipussies!

Lies, Damned Lies and the Statistics That Disprove Them.

We hear the race hustlers (Jackson, Sharpton, Rangel et al) constantly yammering about how the Iraq War is disproportionately killing "people of color". Well, check this out and see just how it breaks down.

BTW: Dubya is going to be making a speech tonight about the war and the MSM is fronting it with plenty of "WE'RE DOOMED!!!! AMERICA HAS FAILED!!!!" coverage. Sure, this is the normal take, but they're really trying to make it impossible for Dubya to give a rousing pep talk by inculcating the not-so-subtle message that he's lying.

This from the people who take trumped-up complaints from jihadists at face value and smear our troops and then turn around and paint the government as all liars, all the time. Government IS evil, but the press only seems to notice when Dems aren't in power.

More on Flag-Burning and the Supreme Court...

The Volokh Conspiracy reruns an old item about why a flag burning amendment is a terrible idea. Go read it.

On The Corner, this familiar-sounding tidbit ran...

RE: LANDOWNERS LOSE [Rod Dreher]

... but Republicans win. Today's ruling is mind-boggling to me. As O'Connor said in her dissent:

Any property may now be taken for the benefit of another private party, but the fallout from this decision will not be random. The beneficiaries are likely to be those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms. As for the victims, the government now has license to transfer property from those with fewer resources to those with more. The Founders cannot have intended this perverse result.

It's highly important, it seems to me, how the Justices lined up on this issue. All the liberals -- Ginsburg, Stevens, Breyer -- and two of the "moderates" (I know, don't laugh) -- Kennedy and Souter -- sided with big business and big government. All the conservatives -- Scalia, Thomas, Rehnquist -- and one moderate (O'Connor) stood up for the little guy.

This is going to be politically very, very potent. Everybody can understand the fear of the rich and powerful business interests colluding with big government to squish the little guy like a bug. This is not America. Except that thanks to SCOTUS, it is.

I doubt it'll work for the Stupid Party because frankly, they're too f*cking stupid and have wandered too far away from anything resembling conservative principles to have any credibility if they try to capitalize on this. It'll be too busy for the fascist Dems to say, "Since when have you cared about the Little Guy?" All the more outrageous since it's the Left that's doing away with our Rights.

Having no shame helps, I guess.

The Wisdom of George Carlin...

...courtesy of my desk calendar. Yesterday's entry:

One of the more embarrassing strains of American thought is the liberal-humanist, touchy-feely, warm and fuzzy, New Age, enviromental-friendly pseudo wisdom that appears on bumper stickers: "Think Globally, Act Locally," and the most embarrassing, "Practice Random Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty." You know, if kindness and beauty require public reminders, maybe it's time we just throw in the jock.

Yepper.

Supreme Court Rules Private Property A Myth!

I've talked frequently - not sure if I've blogged it though - about what I call "The Myth of Private Property" based on the reality that we don't actually own anything real. We just have the obligation to pay taxes on the spot of land we think we own. Don't believe me? Try not paying your property taxes and see just how long you still "own" something.

Well, the Supreme Court Ruled that cities may seize homes under eminent domain, except it's not being used to gather parcels to build highways or some such, but to transfer the property to another private entity that can bring in more tax money to the town.

So, if you live someplace that a Wal-Mart or something wants to build, your friendly public servants will bumrush you off what you foolishly thought was YOUR land and give it to the company. Nice.

Who voted for govt. theft power? (In)justices Stevens, Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg and Breyer.

Who voted for the people? Justices O'Connor, Scalia, Thomas and Rehnquist.

Once again, fascist liberals believe in the government having endless power over us. Some choice, eh?

F'ed-up Priorities On Parade: House Approves Flag-Burning Amendment!

With all the real problems in the world and an active, seditious enemy within in the form of the fascist Democratic Party, it's nice to know that The Stupid Party wants to replace not the First Amendment, but the First Commandment.

Q: What's the accepted method of disposing of a worn flag?

A: BURNING!!!!

To criminalize flag-burning in the protest context when it's legal in the disposal context is the same "thought crime" garbage that evil "hate crime" laws operate under. Congress has time for this, but no words of censure for the seditious Dick "Turban" Durbin?!?!?

Your government at work.

You go, girl!!!

For the first time in 52-years, the Air Force "Thunderbirds," will have a female pilot. Capt. Nicole Malachowski joins the 2006 Thunderbird team as the first female demonstration pilot on any U.S. military high performance jet team.

Of course, the moment she crashes (heaven forbid), much teeth-gnashing will be done about whether women are up to the job, something that never occurs when men crash.

Jon Stewart: Enough With The Hitler References!

Dennis Miller did a bit years ago about how people use the Hitler slur carelessly and how it doesn't really work and diminishes the Holocaust. But since Miller has been deemed unfunny by some by virtue of having incorrect politics, we can't mention him, can we?

How about Jon Stewart then? He's popular with the Lefty crowd, so check out this piece from The Daily Show which righteously tags up the lazy and pernicious use of the Hitler metaphor.

A Relatively Closer Look: Hitler References
Someone disagrees with you? Compare 'em to a Nazi. Works like a charm. A Hitler charm

Good stuff and something to keep in mind when searching for the proper slur to hurl in the midst of an otherwise rote ad hominem flurry.

You're welcome.

DIRK™ Goes Car Shopping.

(Since my angry fascist-liberal readers are complaining about the lack of navel-gazing blog stuff, here's a bone for them. Don't want them calling names or anything, do we?)

The lease on my environment-destroying UAV (Urban Assault Vehicle) is up next week, so it's time to get a new set of wheels. All the car companies are hurting in the UAV sales dept. and fire sales are in effect.

I'm currently despoiling the planet in a car which shall remain nameless, but rhymes with "Bored Exploder". GM is offering Employee Discount Pricing deals and I checked out a Trailblazer, but I didn't like the stereo. No guff, even with XM radio, I didn't like the stereo soundfield. I'm picky that way and since I listen to 99% of my music on the road, this was a deal breaker.

The ultra-chipper sales guy where I got my current UAV from and his sales manager are the stereotypical high pressure, "So, shall we get the papers going?", types that give cliches their foundation. Due to desperation, there are so many incentives, I'm moving to a higher-line model for about $10 more per month.

Yeah, I'm boring myself writing this too. What's instructive is that 6 years ago, I was driving a hooptie with broken AC, the transfer case didn't work, it had nearly a quarter-million miles on it and a ghetto mechanic was going to damage it to the point of scrap while ripping me off on repairs.

Now I'm about to pick up a new UAV, I make 80% more than I did then and life's OK. And somehow I did it all without a government program that robbed someone else to give me succor in return for swearing fealty to some politician.

Self-determination. Try it sometime instead of mugging others with fascist-liberal schemes.

The Rise of the "Hannity Right"?

I've been avoiding Andrew Sullivan's blog lately because I've been busy and because his shrill obsession with the gay stuff is making his writing hard to swallow because it's constantly informed with a "IT'S BECAUSE I'M GAY, RIGHT?!??!" tone that makes me want to Patton-smack him and tell him to get over himself.

Anyhoo, while patroling the docks, I perused his mewlings and saw this e-mail of the day which presents a theory about the yapping Sean Hannity that begins to put a finger on what it is about him that bugs me:

I think conservatives need to discuss the rise of the Hannity right. I was drawn to the conservative side by Bill Buckley's relentless and civilized dismantling of liberal orthodoxy and by Ronald Reagan's sunny faith in individual effort, private enterprise and the goodness of America. I was cemented in the cause by the thought of lesser though still very bright lights such as Tom Sowell, Walter Williams, Charles Krauthammer, Newt Gingrich and just about the whole 1980s NR crowd.

Hannity is a significant departure from this serious tradition. Unlike Rush Limbaugh, whose genius is to approach familiar issues with unfamiliar arguments, Hannity approaches familiar issues with entirely familiar arguments. His points have been made a thousand times before, far more effectively and successfully. He is a bore, and a bully whose attempts to adopt a "nice guy" persona fall flat. Whereas I always sense Rush's innate humility even when at his theatrically bombastic best, Hannity's self regard is overwhelming even when assuring us that he owes all to his listeners. In fact, he owes all to his interesting line-up of guests, without whom his show would be entirely worthless.

His national tours, so far as I can tell from the radio, tend to attract the yobbo element -- all shouting, cheering and hissing. Can you imagine such a thing from the audience at Firing Line? Was there even an audience?
Hannity is several steps backward for conservatives. We have been, are, and must remain, far better than this.

I could hit harder than this....heck, why not? Here's a few more sucky things about Hanbo:

* His constantly plugging of what's gonna be on his Fox yelling heads show. When he says "later, so-and-so will be a guest", it should only mean his radio show. At the top of the hour, OK, but after every frigging commercial break? GAh!

* Tedious boilerplate repetition of his talking points. Yes, the bear SOME repeating, but he goes too far.

* Callers always calling him "a great American". George Washington was a great American, folks. Hannity is just a talk show host. I don't consider Rush a "Great American" either, but that's cuz I don't toss off sobriquets so frivolously that they're worthless, like the standing ovation. Rush is a great radio host and pundit and an American, but I'm fine with the extra six words in between.

* All the freaking country music. The only rock guy allowed is Ted Nugent, so it's non-stop hayseed for this Lou Costello-looking dope. Please.

Is U.S. Torture 'Equal' To that of Saddam Hussein? (A comparison)

The Jawa Report takes on Daily Kos' water-carrying for the seditious Democrats and their current kick of smearing the military as being no different than the greatest genocidal regimes throughout history by showing some pictures of Saddam's torture victims.

WARNING: THIS PICTURES ARE GRAPHIC! PARENTAL CAUTION IS ADVISED!

I'm sure my liberal moonbat readers will flood the comments section with huffy words and links to pictures of collateral casualties of the War and say that we have no moral high ground to judge others, especially their favorite dictators. Whatever. It hurts their side more and reveals their hatred for this country. Unmasking the enemies within is always a good thing.

A link from this article leads to an item at SondraK.com:

we'll talk Geneva Convention abuses some other time, K?

I'm fucking sick of this shit.

This is the last I care to discuss conditions being too hot for the detainees at Gitmo.

That's why when I saw the tape of the fascist Democrat traitor Dick Durbin speaking directly into camera in a direct appeal to Al Queda to murder our soldiers to help his criminal party win back power, I wanted to scream at my television, "When we drag the family members of these terrorists into the cells and force them to watch them raped and murdered and tossed into mass graves; when we saw their heads off and run the footage online and on TV; when douse them in acid and dismember them, THEN you'll have a legitimate complaint you f*cking motherf*cker!!!!"

Rush Limbaugh's got a funny thing on his site. He's got a graphic of the weather forecasts for Gitmo and Baghdad:

As you can see, our soldiers have to contend with far greater heat and danger to their persons than the guests of Camp X-Ray. Our soldiers may get ambushed and blown up today.

The detainees may have someone touch their Koran with one hand.

The Democrats care more for the terrorists and our enemies than they do about our armed forces. They do NOT support our troops! Would a true "supporter" lie and smear them and make their tough jobs even riskier, for they've given the Official Democratic Party Stamp of Approval for the killing of innocents as long as it hurts Dubya and the Stupid Party.

Times Immunizes Dems Against Foot In Mouth Disease

The MSM's continued activities as the propaganda wing of the fascist Democrats are discussed by Byron York at The Huffington Post.

Does the New York Times have a policy against publishing verbatim quotes of outrageous statements by Democrats? This morning, the paper ran a small (176 word), unsigned item on page A-18 headlined, "Apology Demanded for Remark on U.S." It reported that Republicans are demanding that Sen. Richard Durbin apologize for comments in which Durbin, in the words of the Times, "compared abusive treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay to the war crimes of oppressive regimes like the Nazis and the Khmer Rouge."

The Times's characterization is not inaccurate, but why couldn't it just quote what Durbin said? For the record, during a floor debate on Tuesday, Durbin read from an FBI report on allegations of mistreatment of prisoners at Guantanamo and then added:

If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime - Pol Pot or others - that had no concern for human beings.

A number of people, not all of them Republicans, have felt Durbin's remarks were at the very least over the top, but the Times has spared its readers his exact words.

That might not be significant except that the paper has done the same thing with a number of comments made by Howard Dean (here's my column in The Hill on that very issue). For example, the Times has never reported that Dean said, in January, "I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for." The paper did not even mention his remarks until May, when Tim Russert asked Dean about them on "Meet the Press." And then, the Times published Dean's defense of himself -- in which he said, "I hate what the Republicans are doing to this country, I really do" -- but never his original remarks. To this day, the Times has not published them. And the same is true for other Dean statements, like his description of the competition between Democrats and Republicans as "a struggle of good and evil, and we're the good," his description of Republicans as "brain dead," and his suggestion that "Tom DeLay ought to go back to Houston, where he can serve his jail sentence down there courtesy of the Texas taxpayers."

If you read only the New York Times, you literally would not understand why there was a fuss about Dean's comments -- statements that not only angered Republicans but worried some of his fellow Democrats -- because the Times a) did not report most of them at the time they were made, and b) did not actually quote Dean when they were reported. Why can't the Paper of Record just report what Dean says?

It was bad enough with Al Jazeera and Al Queda trying to kill us, now we've got the Dems and the Times acting as domestic cells in concert with them?

We're f*cking doomed as a republic unless we wake up and start fighting back!

The Great Ground Zero Heist

Not hearing much about this in the MSM because it serves the fascist liberal agenda of demonizing America at every turn.

For those who think that a 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero should cover ONLY that tragic day and not be larded with discussions of lynching and genocide, it looks like the Left is trying to rewrite history that's only a few years behind us, just as they've tried to rewrite WWII history into a pretzel in which Japan attacked us in defense of their way of life.

Two PETA Employees Arrested on Animal Cruelty Charges in N.C.

Sometimes the jokes just write themselves, don't they?.

Regarding: The Terri Schiavo Autopsy Results

So the autopsy report for Terri Schiavo came out yesterday and that wicked crone, Randi Rhodes, had great sport in insulting those against the slow-motion murder of an invalid and blah-blah-woof-woof. (When she gets ass cancer, I'll be sure to call her up and snicker at her expense too, but whatever.)

The pro-death side is cheering Terri's shrunken brain as justification for her murder, but all along I've wondered why her rat-bastard husband was so opposed to letting the family take care of her and prevented treatment YEARS AGO when it may've helped or a MRI today that would've revealed the atrophy? Why was it necessary to murder Terri to get her looked at?

Rhodes, in her anti-Christian ravings, said within moments of each other that Terri was beyond help AND that stem cells - harvested from aborted fetuses, no doubt - would've helped her. Huh?!? PICK ONE, YOU WICKED LUNATIC!!!

K. J. Lopez had this comment on The Corner:

Her parents and younger siblings were happy to care for her. They had the resources. There was no written indication of what she wanted. She was alive (though John and others may debate that). Nothing that came out today changes that, so far as I can tell (and I haven’t read the report yet, unfortunately crashing on other things and dealing with some problems you want to know nothing about). The medical examiner said today that the video interaction everyone saw of Terri Schiavo and her parents wasn't impossible. It seems what we learned today is that she was clearly in a very bad way and that, in fact, she was not going to get better—something there were questions about. So many of us have had to live through the horrendous pain of watching a loved one die, as their organs fail one by one, for instance. That's the natural death (no machines, just basic nourishment) her family would have opted for, as the autopsy seems to indicate would have eventually happened (vs. the rehab they were holding onto hope for). But that she died of court-ordered dehydration is a sad thing, in my humble opinion, and all the more reason people should think about these things now.

That's the other bit of double-speak Rhodes and the Left spewed: They said that Terri was so brain-rotted that she didn't feel anything and didn't notice that she was being dried out cruelly AND that she was suffering from broken bones from osteoporosis from being in a PVS. PICK ONE, FOLKS!!! She's either suffering or not - which is it?!?

Could Terri have been helped if she was remanded to her parents care instead of being treated as the rat-bastard's chattel? Probably not - it would've been more useful if done 10 years ago - but it's likely that she'd be alive today and not dead and generally, I'm in favor of keeping innocent people alive instead of murdering them in a manner a dog wouldn't have to suffer.

Terri's dead and her rat-bastard husband, Randi Rhodes and the wicked liberal ghouls are happy about it. Happy. Happy that someone helpless is dead.

Never forget that: Liberals worship death and darkness and will KILL anything that gets in their way.

Racist Liberals Threaten Blacks in the Name of "Fairness".

If you needed any reminding that liberalism is a racist ideology, look no further than Gun charge dropped over suspicion of bias which says:

A weapons charge against a 29-year-old Detroit man was dropped Wednesday after prosecutors refused to submit enough information to help a federal judge decide whether an antigun program unfairly targets black people.

U.S. District Judge Denise Page Hood dismissed the charge -- being a felon in possession of a firearm -- against James Thorpe, who was arrested by Detroit police in 2003 while sleeping in a car. They found a pistol in the vehicle.

Thorpe, who had a prior criminal conviction and wasn't permitted to have a firearm, was prosecuted federally under the Project Safe Neighborhoods program, which has stiffer sentences than state law.

His lawyer, David Steingold of Detroit, asked prosecutors to produce information including statistics showing how many cases are accepted or rejected for the program by race to determine whether the project discriminates against blacks, as several criminal defense lawyers contend.

Steingold said he is happy for his client, whom Hood previously released on bond, but is disappointed that Hood didn't hold prosecutors in contempt of court for failing to produce the data.

Hood said she is considering dismissing a second felon-in-possession case for similar reasons.

Department of Justice officials said the program benefits law-abiding African Americans because it removes gun-toting felons and reduces gun violence in black neighborhoods.

Nice. The issue isn't whether a felon has a gun, it's whether the Feds are catching too many BLACK felons with guns. So much for color-blind justice and a society where all men are created equal. Felons with guns are being issued "Get Out of Jail FREE" cards if they're part of a Designated Grievance Class. We can't hold today's criminals responsible because of slavery, which ended 140 years ago, for those not keeping score.

Drive thru an urban neighborhood and check out the "ghetto gates" and bars on the windows of the houses. How often do we hear of children burned to death when trapped in these self-imposed prisons? Who are these bars supposed to keep out? White people? HA!!!!

This Thorpe character probably had a record for preying on his fellow black and instead of protecting blacks from further danger, lawyers and liberal judges are playing the Race Card to keep the wolves free amongst the sheep.

La Shawn Barber on Anti-Lynching Legislation

I need to put a permanent link to her site at right because she's been coming up with lots of good stuff like this piece railing against the Senate's "apology" for now passing "Anti-Lynching Legislation" a century ago. She ain't having none of this malarkey!

In light of the serious problems we face in the world and our own country, I think this apology is one of the dumbest, emptiest, most politically correct pile of rubbish I’ve heard in a long time.

We’ve got fanatics trying to kill us all in the name of their god and hiding among us. We’re being taxed to death taking care of deadbeats and criminals, while President Bush is sending even more of our money to brutal dictators in Africa. And the Senate apologizes for failing to pass anti-lynching laws 100 years ago?

Perhaps Congress should apologize for decades of bloated socialist programs that caused the black family to disintegrate. Paying unmarried women to have babies is obscene, immoral, and the reason so many (too many) black children have no fathers to speak of. Treating blacks like dummies who require separate (LOWER) standards than every other race is offensive. I’m offended. Where is my apology?

Generations of blacks have been lulled into feeding from the government trough, and the damage it caused will reverberate for generations. And those numbskulls down the street are apologizing for failing to pass anti-lynching laws 100 years ago. Lord, give me strength.

I’m sick of politicians wasting time and money pandering to blacks, treating us like empty-headed children, spoon-feeding us putrid pabulum, and prostrating themselves for every perceived slight. Don’t apologize to “Black People.” Apologize to individual blacks who actually care about this mess.

Apologize for failing to protect Americans against foreign invaders. Apologize for taking our hard-earned money and giving it to people who don’t want to earn it themselves. Apologize for constantly referring to me as “African American,” implying that I’m a lesser American than everyone else. Apologize to all Americans for pushing racially divisive entitlements and preferences and insane “hate crime” laws. Thanks to your misguided paternalism, racial tension will always be front and center.

Freedom is more important than all the apologies, handouts, and excuses Congress could ever come up with. I’m living in the best country in the world, and I’d never be freer anywhere else. To blacks who grew up believing America was the most racist place on earth, if you no longer believe that and realize freedom, the right to be left alone, is the only apology you need, demand that from your senators.

Neal Boortz: “As with slavery, civil rights and the lynchings, no one stood in the way more than the Democratic party. It is the shameful legacy of the Democrats at the time, not of our entire nation. People like Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd, the current Democratic Senator from West Virginia. But in a revisionist sleight of hand, you won’t see this mentioned much in the mainstream press….Which makes it all the more confusing as to why so many black folks pledge their wholesale allegiance to the Democratic party these days.”

I've wondered repeatedly here why so many women and minorities continue to support the fascist traitors of the Democratic Party. I guess it's their "choice" to choose slavery under the tyranical jackboots of the Left, but why do the rest of us have to suffer?

Bad Mother-of-the-Year Contender

Saw a link to this CNN.com story on The Corner. Crap like this makes you want to support abortion for PARENTS!

The mother of a 12-year-old boy killed in his own home by one of the family's two pit bulls says she had been so concerned about one of the dogs that she shut her son in the basement to protect him.

Maureen Faibish said she ordered Nicholas to stay in the basement while she did errands on June 3, the day he was attacked by one or both of the dogs.

She said she was worried about the male dog, Rex, who was acting possessive because the female, Ella, was in heat.

"I put him down there, with a shovel on the door," Faibish said in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. "And I told him: 'Stay down there until I come back.' Typical Nicky, he wouldn't listen to me."

Nicholas apparently found a way to open the basement door.

Despite her concerns about Rex that day, Faibish told the newspaper: "My kids got along great with (the dogs). We were never seeing any kind of violent tendencies."

Faibish found her son's body in a bedroom. He was covered in blood from several wounds, including a major head injury.

No charges have been filed.

No charges?!?! Jeez, what if this stupid bitch left a GUN lying around and Junior aired himself out with it, would no charges be filed in that case?!?

Couldn't take the kid with you, could you? Couldn't get dogs that aren't bred to be killers, could you?

As usual, the innocent die and the stupid go unpunished. They should starve those dogs to near collapse and then toss this pathetic woman into the pit with them covered in A1 BBQ sauce.

Regarding: Michael Jackson

1. Is anyone REALLY surprised at this outcome? All I know is that when I go on my killing spree, I'm gonna do it after I get famous and then do it in L.A., yo!

B. As with O.J., the defense was able to turn the trial on its head and the jurors decided the case based on their dislike of the accusers. Johnny "Since I did so well, I must go to Hell" Cochran got his jury to decide that a cop using a bad word was worse than the slaughter of two people and Jacko's Hellbound attorney from Wolfram and Hart got the jury to hate the mother and free the self-hating, self-mutilating homosexual pedophile cuz she was a skeezy grifter. Nice.

Kerry was the smart one and Dubya was the dumb one, right? WRONG!

The Feckless Crapweasel finally got around to releasing his military records and The Boston Globe reports that Yale grades portray Kerry as a lackluster student.

Gee, does this mean that the media lied to us about how brilliant Kerry was supposed to be? (How about Gore, too?)

During last year's presidential campaign, John F. Kerry was the candidate often portrayed as intellectual and complex, while George W. Bush was the populist who mangled his sentences.

But newly released records show that Bush and Kerry had a virtually identical grade average at Yale University four decades ago.

In 1999, The New Yorker published a transcript indicating that Bush had received a cumulative score of 77 for his first three years at Yale and a roughly similar average under a non-numerical rating system during his senior year.

Kerry, who graduated two years before Bush, got a cumulative 76 for his four years, according to a transcript that Kerry sent to the Navy when he was applying for officer training school. He received four D's in his freshman year out of 10 courses, but improved his average in later years.

Kerry's weak grades came despite years of education at some of the world's most elite prep schools, ranging from Fessenden School in Massachusetts to St. Paul's School in New Hampshire.

That Kerry was a media-created myth is old news to anyone with an IQ above room temperature, but what I want to know is: Where the hell were these pictures during the campaign?!?!?

Yeep!!! Can you say "Herman F*cking Munster"?!?!? I knew you could!

Teen Gets Life Sentence For Helping Girlfriend End Pregnancy

The insanity of the abortion debate is captured in the story of that a 19-Year-Old Stepped On Stomach While Girl Punched Self:

A 19-year-old East Texas man faces a life prison sentence for causing his teenage girlfriend to miscarry twins, even though she wanted to end the pregnancy.

Gerardo Flores was accused of causing the miscarriage by stepping on his girlfriend's stomach. He was prosecuted under the state's new fetal protection law.

Erica Basoria acknowledged asking Flores to help end her pregnancy. But the 17-year-old can't be prosecuted because of her legal right to abortion.

The defense contended that Basoria punched herself while Flores was stepping on her, making it impossible to tell who killed the twins.

The jury reached a verdict after deliberating four hours. Because prosecutors declined to seek the death penalty in the case, Flores received the automatic life sentence.

See if you can follow the logic:

* She wanted to end the pregnancy and if she'd gone to an abortionist, the babies would've been terminated....f*ck it, let's call it what it is...EXECUTED FOR BEING UNWANTED and nothing would've happened.

* The law used to convict this chump doesn't apply to abortionists. "Fetal protection" isn't, is it?

* An abortionist can kill as many unwanted fetuses as women are willing to bring in and he can get rich doing so, but a poor dumbass who provides the same "service" to a WILLING woman gets to go to prison forever.

A similar case is going on here in Michigan with a teen couple who ended her pregnancy by having Prince Charming hit her in the belly with a baseball bat with her consent.

Will someone care to explain to me why this is a good state for our society to be allowing to happen? Here's a chance for my liberal readers to get on their soapboxes and bellow about CHOICE and how the Jesus freaks need to butt out and blah-blah-woof-woof, but I want to know how they can square the insane disparieties of legal treatment of the exact same result: A killed fetus.

It's either OK to kill fetuses or it isn't - which is it? Should we allow "fetal protection laws" like Lacey's law to exist when they have that gaping Roe vs. Wade loophole putting the lie to it?

The Truth About Koran Abuse.

The MSM, in its tireless circling of the wagons around Newsweek's fake, but accurate, story about a Koran being flushed has been gleefully chirping about all the instances of "Koran mishandling" in the papers and on the tele and going, "Aha!!! Told you Americans were evil torturers running a gulag at Gitmo!!!"

Spare me.

If an "infidel" so much as TOUCHS a Koran with bare hands or one hand instead of two, that counts as "mishandling". We're not even flushing the Koran! Nope, just one-hand it and Amnesty International declares us to be the bad guys, even though they admit themselves they don't know for sure what happened! (Thanks, asstacklers.)

Hindrocket from Power Line has his Weekly Standard colum, "A Study in Abuse", up with all sorts of log entries detailing just how lousy a cover-up of our torture methods is going on down in Gitmo.

(BTW: That was sarcasm.)

Here's the punchline:

Anti-Americanism in foreign news coverage is perhaps not surprising. Here at home, however, the slant was not much different. The San Francisco Chronicle, not previously known for its solicitude for things spiritual, headlined: "U.S. Tells How Koran Was Defiled". The Los Angeles Times echoed, "Pentagon: Koran Defiled". Newsday wrote, "Quran Abuses Verified", while ABC headlined, "U.S. Confirms Gitmo Soldier Kicked Quran". Such headlines could be multiplied indefinitely. Many papers dwelt especially on the few drops of urine that inadvertently landed on a Koran, which inevitably prompts the recollection that only 16 years ago, the federal government not only tolerated the immersion of a crucifix in a jar of urine as a work of "art," but actually paid for it.

It seems that the Army--or maybe it's the United States--just can't win. It is almost inconceivable that the Hood report could have been more favorable to the Guantanamo guards and interrogators, yet the international and American press treated it as a confession of wrongdoing, at times with a hint that the Newsweek allegation had proven true after all. Little (frequently, nothing) was made of the fact that it was the Muslim detainees, not American guards or interrogators, who had perpetrated precisely the acts that were the excuse for anti-American riots in the Muslim world.

No matter how virtuous American conduct may be, the many members of the press raise the bar higher, with no regard for the realities of warfare, the inevitable sordidness of prison life, or the frailties of human nature. It is hard to see any purpose in this hypercriticism--no other country, except perhaps Israel, is held to such an extraordinary standard--other than to make it impossible for the United States to detain and interrogate prisoners. Or to fight a war.

Why is "24" such a popular show? Because it shows a fantasy version of the world in which the American agents are fighting to SAVE America, not DESTROY it.

Operation Steal Election: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

As the lunatics of the Left have been running around shrieking that Dubya "stole" his elections via voter intimidation (a lie), Supreme Court interdiction (another lie and funny considering how the Left loves it when the Court shoves stuff they like down our throats), rigged electronic voting machines (paranoia, but there should be a paper trail) and anything else other than the fact that fewer people liked their lousy, lying candidates, they've ignored the theft of the Washington gubernatorial race by their side.

Well, they got away with it. The judge ruled that because the Stupid Party side couldn't prove who the fraudulent votes were cast for, then the fake votes created by the Dem machine would have to count. Absolute madness and a harbinger of the massive coup this successful proof-of-concept will bring.

Dems can't win legitimately, so they'll just steal the vote now and battle for control of the judiciary to fabricate laws by fiat. Voting has now been rendered a useless ceremony. Pardon me while I go throw up.

Michelle Malkin has a wrap-up of this tragedy. Will this energize even more conservative voters than the Left's anti-Christian jihad did in '04?

The "Dump" and "To Do List" Update

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Planned Parenthood Perversity (They Defend Statutory Rape.)

Rich Lowry on National Review Online says:

Can you say “perverse”? Planned Parenthood in Indiana and Kansas is effectively fighting to protect child rapists from potential prosecution in two high-profile legal fights. That an organization devoted to the interests of women finds itself in this position is a cautionary tale of abortion-rights extremism.

The loopiest free-sex advocates might imagine that after sex-ed courses on how to put a condom on a banana, 13-year-old girls blissfully explore their bodies with 13-year-old boys. Put aside that this vision will make most parents gag — it’s not how it works. Teen sex often involves adult men exploiting teen girls. Estimates are that in 60 percent or more of teen births, the father is an adult. A California study found that the fathers in births to junior-high-school mothers were on average nearly 7 years older.

Why would a feminist organization not be eager to cooperate in a fight against the sexual exploitation of young girls? Well, Planned Parenthood represents that wing of the feminist billed as “sex positive.” Although that phrase doesn’t quite capture it. Planned Parenthood is developing the “statutory rape-positive” wing of feminism.

These feminists are unwilling to pass judgment on any sex in any circumstances, don’t care if parents are cut out of the equation entirely, believe the right to an abortion trumps any other consideration, and embrace a notion of privacy so sweeping it includes men who have, under law, raped their young sexual partners. If only Michael Jackson were interested in girls instead of boys, he might, in the right circumstances, have a friend in Planned Parenthood.

Key Democrats from Hillary Clinton to Howard Dean have of late said their party needs to become more moderate on abortion. They could add substance to the rhetoric by opposing Planned Parenthood’s position in these cases. Of course, that will never happen. The abortion absolutists control the Democratic party, a sad fact for those Americans who have moral qualms about abortion, but a happy one for men who impregnate 13-year-olds.

Sacrificing girls to rapists to make sure the Liberal Sacrament of Abortion is performed as often as possible. Keep that in mind when the Left wants to jam some more fascism down our throats in the name of "the children."

It's Official! Randi Rhodes is Nucking Futs!!!

Listen to the Queen of Wonderland as she was braying that they were gonna impeach Dubya and Cheney when she got a call from some guy who thought that by talking that way, it was alienating people who may agree.

She went off on the poor chump, demanding that he explain why he'd respect a [bad person] like Dubya. Whenever he started to get a second sentence out, she'd cut him off and then hung up on him. She said he should call back and then ranted like a loon. After the break, the guy was back and she demanded that he answers questions asked while he was cut off and when he tried to get the question again, she yelled over him and insulted him and called him an idiot.

Yep, that liberal tolerance on display.

Gitmo Grovel: Enough Already

Charles Krauthammer lays the smack down. read it all, but here's the money shot:

Let's understand what mishandling means. Under the rules the Pentagon later instituted at Guantanamo, proper handling of the Koran means using two hands and wearing gloves when touching it. Which means that if any guard held the Koran with one hand or had neglected to put on gloves, this would be considered mishandling.

On the scale of human crimes, where, say, 10 is the killing of 2,973 innocent people in one day and 0 is jaywalking, this ranks as perhaps a 0.01.

On the very day the braying mob in Pakistan demonstrated over the false Koran report in Newsweek, a suicide bomber blew up an Islamic shrine in Islamabad, destroying not just innocent men, women and children, but undoubtedly many Korans as well. Not a word of condemnation. No demonstrations.

Even greater hypocrisy is to be found here at home. Civil libertarians, who have been dogged in making sure that FBI-collected Guantanamo allegations are released to the world, seem exquisitely sensitive to mistreatment of the Koran. A rather selective scrupulousness. When an American puts a crucifix in a jar of urine and places it in a museum, civil libertarians rise immediately to defend it as free speech. And when someone makes a painting of the Virgin Mary, smears it with elephant dung and adorns it with porn, not only is that free speech, it is art -- deserving of taxpayer funding and an ACLU brief supporting the Brooklyn Museum when the mayor freezes its taxpayer subsidy.

Michelle Malkin also had a piece: "The truth about Guantanamo Bay"

Unreality-based liberals would have us believe that America is systematically torturing innocent Muslims out of spite at Guantanamo Bay. Meanwhile, our own MPs have endured little-publicized abuse at the hands of manipulative, hate-mongering enemy combatants. Detainees have spit on and hurled water, urine and feces on the MPs. Causing disturbances is a source of entertainment for detainees who, as Gen. Richard Myers points out, "would turn right around and try to slit our throats, slit our children's throats" if released.

The same unreality-based liberals whine about the Bush administration's failure to gather intelligence and prevent terrorism. Yet, these hysterical critics have no viable alternative to detention and interrogation -- and there is no doubt they would be the first to lambaste the White House and Pentagon if a released detainee went on to commit an act of mass terrorism on American soil.

Guantanamo Bay will not be the death of this country. The unseriousness and hypocrisy of the terrorist-abetting Left is a far greater threat.

Randi Rhodes was yapping about this as well. She says we're bad because we're torturing these little victims. You know by now that reality is the opposite of whatever she says.

IN THE FUTURE, EVERYONE WILL BE HITLER FOR 15 MINUTES

So says Beautiful Atrocities. It's true - we need new cliches.

A generic blog entry...

...for those who long for the days when blogs weren't angry tracts of opinion, but rather self-absorbed fusions of narcissism and voyeurism, written by the pathetic for the perusal by the lifeless.

==============

I wasn't in the mood for what I had packed for lunch, so I asked the girl who works next to me if she wanted to go out to lunch. After some stalled debate over where to eat, we ended up going to Rally's (she drove) and I had a #2 Big Buford Combo with Diet Coke.

It was really windy and our napkins and wrappers kept threatening to blow away. A motorcycle cop was sitting at another table when we got there. The burger was OK, but I think Taco Bell would've been a better value. Oh, well. At least I won't need to go to Rally's for another few years.

Happy now?

The Great Satan Predicts: Michael Jackson Walks.

Unfortunately I tend to agree.

Though I am 100% in the belief that Jackson has molested this boy and countless others, DA Sneddon has presented a horrible case against Jackson bordering on negligent in my view ranking up there with the Chris Darden/Marcia Clark fiasco with the gloves in the OJ trial and the Lance Ito negligence in his allowance of the irrelevant Mark Furhman "nigger" tapes.

[snip]

I really think the jury is going to buy into the boy's mother as a scumbag meme, they also will rightfully ignore the poor case presented in the conspiracy portion, what I'm not 100% on is the molestation charges, but here is where my prediction could get trounced, if the jury actually looks past the poor testimony and decides to pull a reverse OJ, slamming someone on shoddy evidence knowing full well that the person has done something in the past that he should have gotten nailed on.

Part of me thinks that Sneddon is fully aware that he has lost this case, and now hes just trying to damage Jacksons public image as much as possible in hopes that it will at least stem the tide of children sleeping with Jackson, at least here in the US.

One thing all this L.A. law has taught me: If I'm gonna kill someone, I'm gonna do it in L.A., yo!

A sad irony sighted...

While driving home today, I saw a young black man walking along wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt. Think about it: Would he wear a shirt with Robert "KKK" Byrd's picture on it with the caption, "Join the KKK and help me kill them niggers!"

Didn't think so.

With the whitewashing of Che's bloody history via films like "The Motorcycle Diaries" and splashing his mug across the chests of millions of ignorant Rage Against The Machine fans, it's obvious that the Left is forcing yet another Big Lie down the throats of the clueless.

But that doesn't mean I should accept seeing minorities wearing icons of slavery and tyranny happily. I'll bet this poor guy thinks that the White Devil is holding him down and the answer is in hoping for a swell fella like Che to rise and smash the system.

Gah.

Someone needs to give him one of these Anti Che tshirts:

I've written about this sort of thing before at "Know your racist, drunk fashion status symbols." Catch up.

Charles Krauthammer: In Defense of Certainty

One of the few groups still deemed acceptable to be bigoted against are Christians and the aetheist fascists of the Left make damn sure that they exercise their right to slander and smear these "Jesus freaks" at every turn in a manner that they'd NEVER attack members of any other faith. (Yes, hypocrisy, I know...)

At TIME.com, Charles Krauthammer tears into part of the liberal dogma in typically masterful fashion.

The Op-Ed pages are filled with jeremiads about believers--principally evangelical Christians and traditional Catholics--bent on turning the U.S. into a theocracy. Now I am not much of a believer, but there is something deeply wrong--indeed, deeply un-American--about fearing people simply because they believe. It seems perfectly O.K. for secularists to impose their secular views on America, such as, say, legalized abortion or gay marriage. But when someone takes the contrary view, all of a sudden he is trying to impose his view on you. And if that contrary view happens to be rooted in Scripture or some kind of religious belief system, the very public advocacy of that view becomes a violation of the U.S. constitutional order.

What nonsense. The campaign against certainty is merely the philosophical veneer for an attempt to politically marginalize and intellectually disenfranchise believers. Instead of arguing the merits of any issue, secularists are trying to win the argument by default on the grounds that the other side displays unhealthy certainty or, even worse, unseemly religiosity.

Nothing has more aroused and infuriated the sophisticates than the foreign policy of a religiously inclined President, based on the notion of a universal aspiration to freedom and of America's need and duty to advance it around the world. Such liberationism, confident and unapologetic, is portrayed as arrogant crusading, a deep violation of the tradition of American pluralism, ecumenism, modesty and skeptical restraint.

That widespread portrayal is invention masquerading as history. You want certainty? You want religiosity? How about a people who overthrow the political order of the ages, go to war and occasion thousands of deaths in the name of self-evident truths and unalienable rights endowed by the Creator? That was 1776. The universality, the sacredness and the divine origin of freedom are enshrined in our founding document. The Founders, believers all, signed it. Thomas Jefferson wrote it. And not even Jefferson, the most skeptical of the lot, had the slightest doubt about it.

It's ironic that he ends with mentioning Jefferson because the fascist indoctrination policy of the government's education establishment has left many children ignorant of this Founding Father of anything other than he owned slaves and raped them to have bastard children. Then they take his (and Washington's) name off the schools and rename them with liberal icons as part of the Left's jihad to destroy American culture by refusing to tell the "yoots" of America their history.

Why You Should Listen To Liberal Hate Speech Radio.

During my commute home (depending on how late I work), I've got a few options for news/talk listening if I'm not in the mood to hook up the iToonz cuz there is no tolerable music radio station in this town.

There's NPR's "All Things Considered", which is reliably liberal but I've also heard some really good records reviewed that I've gone out and bought.

Sean Hannity's tape-delayed yapping is an option, but you only need to listen to an hour a week to know what's new because every other stinking minute of the show is him hyping his Freedom Concert, who'll be on that evening's "Hannity & Colmes", blah-blah-woof-woof ad naseum. Boring and a waste of time.

Michael Savage is a weird bird. The media have tarred him as a homophobe and from what I've heard, he isn't a 'phobe, but he's got little use for the gay agenda and doesn't mince words about it. Of course, in the Left's Orwellian view, anything less than total love is hate and that means he's an enemy to be thrashed. Whatever.

My problem with Savage is that he gets too hung up minor stuff and goes plum loco over it, effectively burying any good parts under the BS. He did at least THREE DAYS of rage over Laura Bush's stand-up schtick at the White House Correspondents Dinner and was howling that the joke about Dubya trying to milk a male horse was a sick gay joke and that the Dubya's were selling out the conservatives that voted him into office and pandering to the "Queer Eye" crowd. Utter lunacy.

Besides, hasn't he heard that Team Dubya are a plotting gay genocide with their Jesus freak pals at Halliburton?

That brings us to the shrill harpie and supposedly the best host on Air AmeriKKKa, Randi Rhodes. I've mentioned this lying sack of liberal manure before in connection with her "jokes" (her term) about Dubya needing to be assassinated, something for which she apologized for (with her fingers crossed behind her hump) so as not to face criminal charges. This is your tolerent Left, don't you know?

Well, after listening to her braying about how Mark "Deep Throat" Felt was such a hero and how Ben Stein (she said Rush Limbaugh - facts are just annoyances to liberals) was trying to reverse history when he pointed out that getting Nixon led to the Cambodian genocide, I've decided that MORE people should listen to her lunatic ravings for a very simple reason:

Reality is exactly 180 degrees opposite from what she's talking about.

If you listen to her bilous show and invert what she says, you'll arrive at what the Truth is. She is such a pathological (and typical) liberal, she says that day is night, up is down, Left is right and the Right is wrong.

Tonight, she actually - I'm not kidding - blamed the invention of crack cocaine on Oliver North(?!?) and said that all the kids killed in drive-by shootings were his fault.

Once again, I'm not kidding.

If you have an opportunity to listen to her show, by all means soak up the lies and sycophantic phone calls - I've NEVER heard an opposing viewpoint voiced, unlike some calls Rush takes - and keep in mind that everything she says is a lie and that reality is only a mirror away. You're welcome.

DIRK™ vs. John Podhoretz: Knuckle Up, Bitch...FIGHT!!!!

Terminal dumbass and general Jedi hater JPod has been emptying his full diapers on The Corner today, partaking of some serious crack-smoking and Star Wars-hating like this:

A reader points out that 83 percent of the reviews of Star Wars ROTS have been positive, according to the rottentomatoes.com website, which also features a poll of its readers. And 88 percent of them like it too. "Seems that it's a wee bit overreaching to think people reject the movie as much as you have. Your reaction is curiously like what I would expect from Democratic activists who really, really believe something and then assert because they believe it so much everyone believes it. Sometimes otherwise good people can in fact disagree with your usually astute opinions."

That's a nice way of putting it, and I thank you. But citing rottentomatoes.com against the plummeting second-week boxoffice numbers -- unquestionably indicating disappointment and a lack of enthusiasm among those who have already seen it because they're not going back to see it again -- is a little like talking about the polls that showed Kerry won even though the hard numbers showed Bush's victory. ROTS is rotting.

I'd finally f*cking had it with this asstackler, so I sharpened up the ol' Crayola and sent this e-mail to the fat, balding f*ck:

Sir,

While I find your political commentary astute and well-reasoned, your insipid jihad against "Revenge of the Sith" has been laden with precisely the deluded "I think, therefore it is" malarkey that your quoted reader rightfully called out as "Democratic." You've resorted to dishonest portrayals of the box office figures to provide false agreement with your seething contempt for the film.

Precisely like the liberal media would do.

Saying, "But citing rottentomatoes.com against the plummeting second-week boxoffice numbers -- unquestionably indicating disappointment and a lack of enthusiasm among those who have already
seen it because they're not going back to see it again...ROTS is rotting," may give you a smug feeling of satisfaction, but apparently you've missed the greatest lesson of the Blogosphere's takedown of Dan
Rather, Eason Jordan and Newsweek: It's pretty stupid to lie about things that can be easily disproved with a few minutes of Internet research.

To claim that the 49.1% drop in THREE-DAY weekend receipts is proof of audience dissatisfaction requires the gullible and ignorant - the only people who can be fooled by your NY Times-worthy tactics - to not know that:

1. ROTS grossed another $50 mil. on the Thursday before that opening weekend.

2. It took in $14.8 mil on Memorial Day and not counted in the 3-day total.

3. It's set or tied the records for: Best Opening Day, 4-day and 5-day grosses; fastest to $100 and $200 mil. (possibly $300 mil.)

4. It is likely to surpass the entire domestic gross of Episode II by this weekend, a mere 18 days into its run.

5. In its 2nd weekend, it outgrossed the two new competitors, The Longest Yard and Madagascar by over $10 mil.

6. A lot of people haven't seen it yet because they're waiting for the crowds to die down. You also clearly have no clue as to what the actual repeat business is like because on various forums I've visited,
the people who were fearful that "it'll suck like the other prequels" before its release are now seeing it multiple times and are planning on buying the DVD. (I've seen it twice and plan to pick up a few more
showings with other repeat customers.)

You hated ROTS. We get it. (Duly noted and ignored.) But what you need to get is that when you allow your personal animus to so badly cloud your sense of reason that you think you can blithely toss off your
biases as facts, it seriously calls into question your opinions about more pressing issues, like what the scoundrels in government are up to.

It's quite likely that many people may be thinking, as I have: "If he's lying so baldly about a MOVIE, what else is he lying to us about?"

Try the decaf and quit giving Corner visitors your lies wrapped in hate, sold as truth and reality. (Do it for the children!)

Regards,

Dirk Belligerent

I hadn't noticed when I launched that salvo that he'd been getting slapped up via e-mail and was crying like the little shaved pussy he is in posts like:

I don't know why some of you are determined to demonstrate to me that Star Wars ROTS is too a big hit. I never said it wasn't a big hit. It's a mega-hit. So what? So were the Matrix sequels, and they were as bad as movies can be. What I said was that (as was true with the Matrix sequels) the second-week box-office falloff was very significant, an indicator of a lack of enthusiasm among its audience. You don't want to take my word for it? Here's Gitesh Pandya of boxofficeguru.com: "The concluding chapter of the Anakin trilogy has been depreciating at a slightly faster pace than its predecessor Episode II from 2002." That means it is doing worse at this point than Attack of the Clones, which even Star Wars geeks agree was a low point in the history of everything. So stop e-mailing me about this, because it really doesn't make sense for you guys to act as defensive linebackers for George Lucas, who doesn't deserve you.

...and...

PEOPLE WHO LOVE SWILL ROTS... [John Podhoretz]
...are gettin' angry -- so angry they are comparing me to cheese-eating surrender monkeys: "Your Star Wars comments on NRO's Corner have bombed utterly. Your review was out of the mainstream, your attempt to politicize the film was silly, if not worse--I think you were duped by a bunch of liberals, Frenchmen, and even some liberal Frenchmen at Cannes-- and your Matrix analogy is highly flawed. By the time the weekend is over, the latest Star Wars movie will have shot past the previous movie in terms of tickets sold, something the last Matrix sequel did not come close to doing. If I didn't think you were inviting this type of correspondence, I'd remind you of the first rule of damage control: quit digging the hole deeper."

To which my only answer is: "Tiens-moi, Anakin! Tiens moi en la manière que tu as faites par le lac sur Naboo!"

I'll update this when/if this moron repsonds and/or atones. Don't look for many of his political comments to be mentioned here. Loser.

10 worst album covers of all time.

These sorts of lists are always cropping up, but there's some really funny stuff at Mental Drippings, especially this thing which came in at #9:

That’s right, just “Joyce”. It practically sells itself. For as much as 50 cents, judging by the price tag. Kudos to the marketing genius who came up with this layout. (I think Joyce went on to become an angry algebra teacher at my high school. She always used to bust me and my girlfriend making out behind the building.)

Here’s Joyce’s big day-

“Hello, Joyce residence”

“Hi, Joyce? This is Artie, your producer. We got the photographer to come in today, so grab an extra bottle of aqua-net and get your hot ass in here. I have a nude badminton tournament at noon.” (I can only guess at the weird stuff these people did for fun)

“Oh, what should I wear?”

“Something with rainbow colors, or whatever you have on. I don’t know what the background is going to be. Those faggots from the 12 top hits album are using the fake living room.”

“Great! I just got new glasses. I think they make my head look less human.”

“err…good. Wear them. Bring a flower or something…to…accentuate your cheekbones”

“*giggle* okay, handsome, I’ll be right over.”

Little known fact about Joyce: She started the whole “one name” thing for singers. Madonna, Cher, Prince, Pantera…all Joyce wannabes.

KILLER!

Deep Throat and Genocide

Ben Stein - yeah, the "Bueller? Bueller? Beuller?" actor - has an absolutely brilliant piece at The American Spectator which I'm copying entirely because it's important to keep in mind in the face of the massive orgy of self-congratulatory coverage this revelation has spawned.

Re: The "news" that former FBI agent Mark Felt broke the law, broke his code of ethics, broke his oath and was the main source for Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward's articles that helped depose Richard Nixon, a few thoughts.

Can anyone even remember now what Nixon did that was so terrible? He ended the war in Vietnam, brought home the POW's, ended the war in the Mideast, opened relations with China, started the first nuclear weapons reduction treaty, saved Eretz Israel's life, started the Environmental Protection Administration. Does anyone remember what he did that was bad?

Oh, now I remember. He lied. He was a politician who lied. How remarkable. He lied to protect his subordinates who were covering up a ridiculous burglary that no one to this date has any clue about its purpose. He lied so he could stay in office and keep his agenda of peace going. That was his crime. He was a peacemaker and he wanted to make a world where there was a generation of peace. And he succeeded.

That is his legacy. He was a peacemaker. He was a lying, conniving, covering up peacemaker. He was not a lying, conniving drug addict like JFK, a lying, conniving war starter like LBJ, a lying, conniving seducer like Clinton -- a lying, conniving peacemaker. That is Nixon's kharma.

When his enemies brought him down, and they had been laying for him since he proved that Alger Hiss was a traitor, since Alger Hiss was their fair-haired boy, this is what they bought for themselves in the Kharma Supermarket that is life:

1.) The defeat of the South Vietnamese government with decades of death and hardship for the people of Vietnam.

2.) The assumption of power in Cambodia by the bloodiest government of all time, the Khmer Rouge, who killed a third of their own people, often by making children beat their own parents to death. No one doubts RN would never have let this happen.

So, this is the great boast of the enemies of Richard Nixon, including Mark Felt: they made the conditions necessary for the Cambodian genocide. If there is such a thing as kharma, if there is such a thing as justice in this life of the next, Mark Felt has bought himself the worst future of any man on this earth. And Bob Woodward is right behind him, with Ben Bradlee bringing up the rear. Out of their smug arrogance and contempt, they hatched the worst nightmare imaginable: genocide. I hope they are happy now -- because their future looks pretty bleak to me.

Wow.
