"Hello, Sir or Madam [state which]. It's Great To Be Here In [name of city]!"

How frightened is Obama of saying something stupid because he doesn't have his TelePrompter? This frightened:

It appears Barack Obama's teleprompter is hitting the campaign trail.

The Democratic presidential nominee has never tried to hide the fact he delivers speeches off the device, though normally he doesn't use one at standard campaign rallies and town hall events.

But the Illinois senator used a teleprompter at both his Colorado events Monday — making for a particularly peculiar scene in Pueblo, where the prompter was set up in the middle of what is normally a rodeo ring.
This is why Obama ran scared when McCain challenged him to a series of open town hall debates - he can't think extemporaneously. If McCain can stay cool and say "um" less than Obama, he'll win the debates. We've had eight years of a guy who can't put together a complete sentence; voters will go with the guy who sounds like he knows what he's saying. Oddly, the best talkers are the veep picks, though Biden blathers on with such crippling logorrhea, Palin wins by default with her concision.
