The Unending Rage of Janeane Garofalo Never Ends. (Updated & Bumped)

(Note: This was originally posted 12/23/08, but I've changed the time index to bump it to the top so the update is seen.)

I was at Borders tonight picking up Robot Chicken: Season Three and looking at the magazine rack. On the cover of Geek Monthly was a smiling, brunette Janeane Garofalo - no longer sporting the self-loathing fried bleached blonde mop she had - with the headling "Crashing Bush's Party" in conjunction with her upcoming role on the next season of the Jack Bauer Power Hour (aka "24").

In the article, she was spewing the same insane rage-filled garbage she has been since she decided she'd be as offensive as she could be to anyone who dared not goosestep with her BDS samba. The same old "Bush-Cheney cabal" and lies that the show that she isn't too proud to take a paycheck from was an inspiration for Gitmo torture are trotted out for the umpteenth time. Didn't Obama just get elected last month? WTF are they still yammering on about Dubya? Why can't these losers just take their own advice and MOVE THE F*CK ON?!?

As the interview dragged on, she revealed that she was raised in a conservative, religious household and she had accepted what her father told her as the gospel truth until she went to college and was called an "asshole" for daring to voice her opinions. She was so shocked, she basically rejected everything she was raised to believe and became the shrill liberal harpie she is now. Well, there we have it: Daddy issues that would shock Electra and acceptance-craving that destroys any illusions she's actually an iconoclast when she blindly disposes of her family in order to curry favor with the crowd she wants to be part of.

So sad. I just watched "The Truth About Cats & Dogs" a few weeks ago and she was so winsome and cute then; easily the more desirable choice of her and Uma Thurman. I endured the schlocky "The Matchmaker" just because she was in it and I loved her cameo in "The Cable Guy" as the Medieval Times serving wench, but in her off-screen dealings, she's become insufferable and it's too bad because it damages her on-screen effectiveness. When she was cast on "24", a lot of people were outraged that a seething, anti-government malcontent would be sullying the JBPH as a FBI agent(!), but unlike the intolerant Lefties (like her, ironically), I'm going to try and look beyond her rancid politics. (Face it, if I didn't watch any TV/films because the stars were pinheads, I'd be watching nothing and as stupid as he is offscreen, Alec Baldwin kicks ass on "30 Rock".)

When Garofalo started on Air AmeriKKKa, I tuned into her show and after 45 minutes of her tirades, I had to bail before I woofed my cookies. Hearing her sounding upset that our soldiers' improved body armor was resulting in fewer deaths, but more crippling injuries, was just maddening. She was angry that our soldiers weren't dying enough for her taste; the same soldiers who were fighting the Islamofascists who would deny her a career and the ability to spout off freely whatever lunacy that entered her empty head. Just pathetic, but so typical for Hollyweird of today. Power Line had an obit for Van Johnson that explores the anti-military attitudes of Hollyweird that's enlightening, not that Janeane Garofalo has any use for facts that don't keep her in the in-crowd and slapping back against her father. Of course, she doesn't see the irony that conservatives are mostly blacklisted by her fellow travelers in the industry while she takes a job on a show she despises its best qualities of. (i.e. Jack Bauer kicking terrorist ass for his country!)

Final irony? She encourages people to go to Borders to get information. Who knew that Borders was considered the info spot for unhinged Lefties? I mean, other than me, that is? (I've joked with my g/f that she couldn't get a job at Borders because she's too hetero for them. Heh.) While I was in the DVD section, the sales girl was actually recommening "10,000 B.C." to a customer, so that should tell you the level of information Janeane expects you to swallow from her fave bookstore.

What was I doing there since it's such a evil place? Saving 40% on my DVDs, that's what - best price available anywhere. Score! Let the Commies figure out how to make a buck themselves. Heh.

UPDATE & BUMP: 24 is now nine hours into the season and Janeane has been OK, though a lot of liberals at this one forum I post at are bagging on her dour mien. (Maybe they wish she would sabotage Jack in the name of extreme liberals everywhere?) Anyhoo, I saw this interview quoted on Big Hollywood and here's what the typically "open-minded", "diverse" and "tolerant" liberal has to say:

The reason a person is a conservative republican is because something is wrong with them. Again, that’s science – that’s neuroscience. You cannot be well adjusted, open-minded, pluralistic, enlightened and be a republican. It’s counter-intuitive. And they revel in their anti-intellectualism. They revel in their cruelty.

Sarah Palin [is] small-minded and mean-spirited. It has nothing to do with gender — I don’t give a shit about her gender — she is what the Republican Party has become: obstructionist, contrarians, small-minded, all of these things. She just happens to be attractive. There’s definitely something wrong with her. She’s lacking in so many areas. Of course she’s successful with a segment of the country because she represents that lesser segment of the country. It’s people’s lesser nature – their human frailty. You know whatever’s wrong with them is what she is about.
That's right, Janeane; the woman who has raised a family, worked a fishing trawler, and took on the entrenched old boys club of Alaskan politics to rise to the chief executive position of that state is stupid, crazy and a sign of how stupid and crazy you believe the proles of America to be. And who better to tell us than a bitter and rage-filled actress who hasn't been SEEN (she was a voice player in Ratatouille) by any substantial audiences in at least a decade until now on 24? If anyone is narrow and cruel, it's you, babe. That's why you're still single, your joke marriage 16 years ago that you didn't ever dissolve notwithstanding. You used to be cute and funny, now you're just vile and miserable. You have my pity, you miserable twit.

==============

ANOTHER UPDATE (2/27/09): Jeez, she just can't help herself, can she? Appearing with fellow traveler and raving loon Keith Olbermann:
After mentioning that former CNN anchor Daryn Kagan used to date Limbaugh, Garofalo cracked that Kagan has Stockholm Syndrome, which she also attributed to RNC Chairman Michael Steele, with Olbermann agreeing that Steele suffers from "self-loathing":
JANEANE GAROFALO: She dated him, so either she suffers from Stockholm Syndrome – a lot like Michael Steele, who’s the black guy in the Republican party who suffers from Stockholm Syndrome, which means you try and curry favor with the oppressor.

KEITH OLBERMANN: Yes, you talk about self-loathing.

GAROFALO: Yeah, and there’s, any female or person of color in the Republican party is struggling with Stockholm Syndrome.
So charming. Note that the picture has her credited as a "political activist", as if running around spewing lies and insanity on friendly media outlets contributes anything to society. Pffft.

Actually, JG is dead-on. It is wholly unsurprising that you disagree with her; it'll be over your head, but you should google the 1999 psychology paper "Unskilled and Unaware of It".

Sarah Palin is a litmus test of sorts. If you don't see anything wrong with her, you're part of the problem. C'est la vie.

Dirk Belligerent said...

Maybe you should seek the therapy that Janeane clearly refuses to get for herself. Your projection of your psychoses upon Palin and me surely has those not suffering from the brain-liquefying effects of liberalism in stitches at your clear absence of self-awareness.

Others should notice that the Left keeps repeating "she's stupid" over and over - Big Lie style - instead of actually detailing WHY or HOW she is allegedly so deficient. Despite all her accomplishments, all achieved without connections, nepotism, or marriage, the psychotic liberals just bray louder and louder, "SHE'S STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID!!! AND SO ARE YOU IF YOU CAN'T SEE IT!!!!"

It is true that Moose-Slayer is a litmus test: She reveals the presence of unhinged, misogynistic, panic-stricken liberals! For the ideologues of the Left, she is terrifying because she actually does have it all - career and family - but did it thru her own power and not via charity from liberal programs. Liberals fear of her is the same as their fear of conservative blacks: their racism and sexism can't believe that "those people" could make it without some governmental help from the likes of them.

Sorry, but there's nothing overly impressive about Sarah Palin or her accomplishments. She epitomizes the "big fish, small pond" concept. She has an outsized personality, good looks and enough media saavy to rise above the bumbling competition. How much skill does it take to become mayor of Wasilla, town of 8000, anyway?

For proof, see this 2006 Govenor's debate. That isn't exactly a sharp mind on display there, but she looks impressive compared to the flotsam surrounding her. Actually, Halcro's pretty smart, but he's as captivating as a roof shingle. Palin outshines him, personality-wise, and that's her greatest strength.

As much as you probably think Palin was kneecapped by the MSM last time out, what really was on display was the country-mouse-visits-the-big-city mentality. A perfect example was Couric's question about her reading materials. No one believes she reads all of the papers, but neither do I believe she reads none. She didn't want to reveal what she reads because she didn't want to alienate potential voters-- whatever she said, some one would make a stink about how "that publication is radical, it leans too far right/left", etc. What you saw on display with her answer was her inability to think on her feet under pressure to appear neutral. I've no doubt she could have handled this line of questioning from the Alaska media. national, not so much.

Of course, to people like you, Palin's greatest asset is that she bares her teeth. Never mind that she'll drag your party over the cliff (have you seen polling on her favorable/unfavorables?). What's important to you is that she treats public debate like a WWE wrestling match. You betcha!

It's so funny to see you sexist liberals strangling yourselves with your double-standards and hypocrisies when trying to besmirch a women whose greatest sin is not goosestepping to the fascist liberal beat. If Palin had aborted Trig and been a Democrat, she would've been the top of your ticket with Barry "The One" O'Bama in the bucket-of-warm-spit slot, but noooooooooooooo! She didn't and thus your jihad and insults.

Maybe she should've just stood by a philandering husband for years to rack up pity points and then carpet-bagged it to a state where celebrity trumps qualifications? Whoops, her husband apparently likes hitting it with the missus and not the chubby underlings. Oh, well. Tough break, Sarah.

I've written at length at how Team McCain botched her rollout, hiding her while over-cramming her and then sending her into hostile territory for Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric to sneer at her in an elitist manner. Yeah, she was rough, but your Lord and Savior Obama is so lost without a TelePrompter, nearly a quarter of one presser was him saying "ummmmmmmmm....ahhhhhh......ummmmm" (He also hit his head on the door of Marine One last week. How stupid is He if clumsiness was the meme on Gerald Ford? Hmmmm?)

What you sexist pigs choose to ignore is the testimonials of liberal Democratic women like Camille Paglia, who has tried to warn the Dems of the folly of smearing someone as bright as Palin. When a former speechwriter for Edwards, Clinton and Obama announced her decision to vote for McCain, she wrote:

I was one of those initial skeptics and would laugh at the pictures. Not anymore. When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper. When someone fights her way to get scholarships and work her way through college even in a jagged line, that shows determination and humility you can’t learn from reading Reinhold Niebuhr. When a mother brings her son with special needs onto the national stage with love, honesty, and pride, that gives hope to families like mine as my older brother lives with a mental disability. And when someone can sit on a stage during the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live, put her hands in the air and watch someone in a moose costume get shot—that’s a sign of both humor and humanity.

Yeah, she's a member of the VRWC, isn't she? How about the former EIC of Ms. magazine who wrote:

It's difficult not to froth when one reads, as I did again and again this week, doubts about Sarah Palin's “intelligence,” coming especially from women such as PBS's Bonnie Erbe, who, as near as I recall, has not herself heretofore been burdened with the Susan Sontag of Journalism moniker. As Fred Barnes—God help me, I'm agreeing with Fred Barnes—suggests in the Weekly Standard, these high toned and authoritative dismissals come from people who have never met or spoken with Sarah Palin. Those who know her, love her or hate her, offer no such criticism. They know what I know, and I learned it from spending just a little time traveling on the cramped campaign plane this week: Sarah Palin is very smart.

Now by “smart,” I don't refer to a person who is wily or calculating or nimble in the way of certain talented athletes who we admire but suspect don't really have serious brains in their skulls. I mean, instead, a mind that is thoughtful, curious, with a discernable pattern of associative thinking and insight. Palin asks questions, and probes linkages and logic that bring to mind a quirky law professor I once had. Palin is more than a “quick study”; I'd heard rumors around the campaign of her photographic memory and, frankly, I watched it in action. She sees. She processes. She questions, and only then, she acts. What is often called her “confidence” is actually a rarity in national politics: I saw a woman who knows exactly who she is.

For all those old enough to remember Senator Sam Ervin, the brilliant strict constitutional constructionist and chairman of the Senate Watergate Committee whose patois included “I'm just a country lawyer"...Yup, Palin is that smart.

Three women whose liberal Democratic bona fides are unimpeachable and who say that Palin is getting a raw deal from frightened sexist liberal pigs like you and you're still committed to bashing her? Are you nuts? Well, of course you are. Liberalism is a mental disorder like schizophrenia or liking Coldplay.

You want to know how I know you're terrified of Moose-Slayer? Hmmmm?

A: Because you can't stop begging the Stupid Party to get rid of her lest they be ruined by this idiotic Caribou Barbie.

If she truly was polling so negatively and was the certain doom of your ideological foes, why would you in your right mind want to stop them?!? When my enemies are setting themselves on fire, do you think I rush to bring them water or pull out the marshmallows? (Hint: It's B.) You don't want "[my] party" - BTW, I am most certainly NOT a Republican; assume much? - to thrive lest your fascist Dem pals be hampered in their rapid Sovietization plans for America (or would that be "Amerika" after the Revolution?), so why do you pretend you're offering helpful advice? Wouldn't it be better to cheer Moose-Slayer on in hopes that she become the nominee if she's such poison? Hmmmm? Why aren't you trying to promote her instead of bury her if she's the end of the GOP?

Duh.

The final irony of your blathering came right up top: "[H]he has an outsized personality, good looks and enough media saavy to rise above the bumbling competition."

You just described the Jimmy Carter 2.0 that occupies the Oval Office. Are you that clueless? You betcha! XD

"You want to know how I know you're terrified of Moose-Slayer?"

Ha! Hopefully moronic Sarah Palin will be the Repubs go to girl because America hates her guts. Add to that what will happen when the liberal media goes after her again the way they went after Hillary and she won't have a snowball's chance in hell.

Actually, I would say Palin is a moron the way George Bush was a moron. Neither of them are actually stupid people. They have at least average inteligence and they both both have that ability to charm the pants off people and that's a good thing for a politican. Palin should stay up in Alaska (the nation's largest state!) because when she ventures down to the lower 48 she will get her ass handed to her, again. I hope she does seek the nomination because it will be good entertainment and I enjoy a good laugh. Nothing funnier than fat loser evangelical chicks getting all excited. "She's one of us!" LOL

Dirk Belligerent said...

Lucky for you sexist liberal pigs, the Washington Post isn't waiting for 2012 to run the hit jobs on her, continuing to smear her image to suit the elites' agendas. Once again, the sheer terror of Moose-Slayer's potential is what has you pussies filling your diapers. If she was truly so deficient, she wouldn't need to the endless jihad against her, now would she?

The underlying rational for the smear pogrom is that after having help elect an empty suit with extensive criminal connections and no accomplishments to his name, the possibility that what they believe as an empty skirt could replicate the feat, even over their Pravda-grade efforts, frightens them. They're used to charisma-deficient geezers from the Stupid Party who are easy to beat with the style card, so a genuine rock star like Moose-Slayer makes them reach for the Imodium.

This is also why Bristol's heavily-edited comments in the AP about abstinence being "not realistic at all" (total quote from the stories) are going to get such play for the next four years because it allows the Treason Media to bash conservatives as hypocrites while covering up a multitude of liberal transgressions, like John Edwards love child he made while cheating on his terminally ill wife.

You really are insane. You can't effectively argue FOR your point without tossing out a half-dozen strawmen to defeat. You can show no evidence of Palin's intelligence without quoting a freaking magazine editor, as if that holds weight. I don't even have to post a list of conservative intelligentsia who've dismissed her as a clown, I can leave you with an exact quote from Palin which proves my point:

COURIC: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? ... Instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?

PALIN: Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions.

The bank bailout is about health-care reform? WTF? Unpack that nonsense into something intelligible and then we'll talk.

As to your "MSM edited Bristol's commentz!@1", one again, you're stuck playing the fool. It was from a freaking FOX interview with Greta Van Sustern.

Reality has a way of kicking you in the junk regularly, but it's not like that slows you down any.

I'm swamped at work so this'll have to be fast, not that flattening you losers is difficult.

1. I don't have her IQ tests handy and NEITHER DO YOU SEXIST LIBERAL PIGS, yet you claim that my eyewitness accounts from LIBERAL DEMOCRATS are invalid while the insane hatred of Janeane Garofalo and Andrew Sullivan is evidence enough. Mentioning sellout CINOs like Kathleen Parker isn't a rebuttal either. Those losers think that the GOP isn't liberal enough and needs to rush to the left to have a chance against the real fascist liberals like Obama and Pelosi.

B. I said the Couric interview was bad, so you throw it at me as if you're schooling me? Bwahahahahaha!!! When Obama stumbles without his TelePrompter, you're silent; when it's reported that they're trying to put a computer monitor in his lectern to feed him talking points, you're silent; when he lies and contradicts his own words, you're silent; but boy oh boy, Moose-Slayer sure is a dummy, ain't she?

3. re: the Bristol quote - I know it's from a Fox interview, but what was missing from the AP's selective quotation is what the context for that statement was. Their agenda requires the consistently negative portrayals of anyone not toeing the liberal line.

Digging up the transcript, it's clear she didn't inherit Mom's gift for gab.

VAN SUSTEREN: I don’t want to pry to personally, but I mean, actually, contraception is an issue here. Is that something that you were just lazy about or not interested, or do you have a philosophical or religious opposition to it or…

BRISTOL: No. I don’t want to get into detail about that. But I think abstinence is, like — like, the — I don’t know how to put it — like, the main — everyone should be abstinent or whatever, but it’s not realistic at all.

I'll buy a beer (domestic only; $4 max value) for anyone who can diagram that sentence. Continuing...

VAN SUSTEREN: Why?

BRISTOL: Because — I don’t want to get into details on this.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, no, I don’t mean personally, just big picture, not — not necessarily about you, but…

BRISTOL: Because it’s more and more accepted now.

VAN SUSTEREN: Among your classmates and kids your age?

BRISTOL: Among — yes, among kids my age.

VAN SUSTEREN: How do you change that?

BRISTOL: To see stories like this and to see other stories of teen moms and just — it’s something that’s — I don’t know, just — you should just wait 10 years and it’d just be so much easier.

I guess this is why Obama is sending his daughters to Sidwell Friends and not the D.C. public schools. Not a lot of morality being heard in the classrooms. Now, this falls on Moose-Slayer's watch because she's supposed to inculcate values at home, but it goes to show the herd pressures on kids to mimic the whorish ways of the kids on Gossip Girl and 90210.

It's interesting that you're whining about non-existent strawmen when you're tossing Bristol into the mix. Obama sat for 20 years in the pews of a racist preacher's church and sat in silent approval of conspiracy theories and served with a loud and proud domestic terrorist and those weren't character flaws enough to disqualify him for the Presidency, but Moose-Slayer's trampy daughter is? Nice how the sexism and hypocrisy cuts only one way with you liberals!

1-2-3 strikes...YER OUT!!!

Anonymous said...

Erm... I believe it was you who brough Bristol into the mix, as an attempt to change the subject, as usual. No surprise, you failed at making a convincing argument here as well. I don't give a rat's ass about Bristol Palin, I didn't bring her up, and I haven't spent ANY time attacking her. She is not a public figure, and what she has to say is not relevant to the discussion at hand. But you know that. Hey look over there!

Anyway, Kathleen Parker is a CINO? How about George Will? David Frum? David Brooks? You think those names are a bit bigger on the marquee than Elaine Lafferty and Wendy Button?

My argument about Palin isn't a sexist argument. You arm yourself with talking points and slurs that are simply not relevant to the discussion or my argument. You NEED to turn it into a sexist argument, because you can't defend Palin on her merits.

You can defend Sarah Palin. Keep convincing yourself that she's the real deal. You and your ilk in your bubble can continue to promote her as the Obama-slayer. I can guarantee you she won't make it out of the first primary. Serious money will not get behind someone with the intellectual depth of a D-list celebrity.

Dirk Belligerent said...

Yawn...

If you actually read what I write - difficult when your knee is jerking so violently when confronted with facts contrary to your dogmas - but I'm not saying that "Palin iz teh uberz!!!" but that the unhinged sexist liberals are bashing her as being some toothy yokel based on little more than she refuses to have abortions and isn't a liberal mooing in their choir.

My commentary has been consistently along the lines of "Why are liberals so terrified of her?" (Hit the post tags to bring up all my items about her.) Compared to the mushy gruel that was the Stupid Party's candidates this year - quick, who was "my guy" in the race? - she had no choice by to be the rock star. Was she ready for Prime Time? Not quite, but compared to the lying gaffe machine Joe Biden, she was aces. Hell, Obambi admitted his #2 was a yammering joke at his press conference, yet you persist in hammering the meme that Palin's the idiot. I see what you're doing.

Unlike you liberals, I'm not enthralled by personality cults. If Palin runs in 2012, I'll give a look, but if she doesn't, I'm not gonna cry about it. It's funny how you atheists liberals worship the Obamessiah as your Sun God and then sneer that conservatives are religious fanatics. Too funny.

Randy said...

Why on earth did a post about Janeane Garafalo turn into a Palin "discussion?"

Garafalo is making the same mistake that about endless other has-been performers have made, and that's simply turning from funny to bitter.

Look at her - she epitomizes self-loathing and Daddy-issues with her nasty hair and endless tattoos.

Better yet, don't look at her.

Dirk Belligerent said...

Because I have a couple of diehard liberal nutcases who can't stop going off-topic on posts and used the mention of Palin in the update as their opening to get their talking points out there. Their crazier stuff gets round-filed, as if this junk isn't pretty loony.
